I have totally been struggling with sneaking in a little exercise and movement at home.... between the kids, one of which is having sleep issues again, the dogs, the mess, work and volunteer stuff, there's just so much to do! As much as I love exercise, it's usually the first thing to get pushed aside and I've totally been feeling it.
I finally decided I had enough, and I needed to make time for me. I've been saying I wanted to try a FIT with HIIT class since my friend Kristina McManus opened her studio in Ponte Vedra. Last week I reached out to her and asked for a schedule so I could try a class, and I did it!! I have to say, I was a little nervous since I haven't done much besides walk the dog or a 7 minute workout the last few months, and even that was inconsistent.
FIT with HIIT is an efficient 30 minute workout using resistance bands that combines strength training and cardio all in one. The results are lean, strong muscles.
So. Tuesday morning I left the van/carseat with the kids and their sitter and hopped in my dad's awesome convertible for my quick ride down to Ponte Vedra. Tempted as I was to hit the open road and have a Mommy's morning out on my own, I got myself to Kristina's studio and we were ready to go. She immediately made me feel at ease, with some simple instructions on what we were going to do during our 30 minute workout and how to use the resistance bands on the board. I have to tell you, I loved this workout!!!! Kristina has this sort of calm energy going on that's just the right amount of encouraging and motivating without being in your face or intimidating. I was so comfortable and at ease while we worked our way through her training. Every workout she offered beginner level and then a step if you felt ready to move on to a more advanced move. When we started, she assured me the class would move quickly and just as I would start to wonder if I could make it, it would be over. That's exactly how it happened!

I enjoyed my class so much, I turned around and bought a package of classes so I can keep going! There's an extremely convenient and easy to use app to purchase and reserve a spot in any class, as well as manage your account. I'll be there on Tuesday mornings at 8:45 enjoying myself and feeling great!! I wish I could go more than once a week, but at least I made a plan to get out on Tuesdays for now.
